Whether it be opera, jazz, blues, or musical theater, Alicia Gianni has shown tremendous versatility when it comes to crossing over as an artist. Nicknamed, “The Chameleon” by colleagues, she can perform a wide variety of genres, roles/characters, and has proven her voice can touch audiences across the world.  She has performed on stages all over America, Italy, Portugal, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Mexico.  Alicia enjoys entertaining with acoustic piano or guitar arrangements for private parties, recitals, large piece bands in clubs, or on the stage with full orchestra and costumes.  She credits her classical training in voice and theater for the ability to excel in any setting.  An avid recitalist, she was discovered singing in a private recital at a ranch just outside of Houston, TX and was asked to sing at the Loews Las Vegas Resort for Magic Johnson and Craig Ferguson for a T-Mobile convention. The Alicia Gianni Trio was born shortly after and has performed at Café Adagio, King Biscuit Patio Café, The Tasting Room at Uptown Park, French Country Wines, Eddie V’s in, Carmelo’s, B & B Butchers, and B.B. Italia in Houston. She was nominated in 2011 for Best Jazz Singer by the Houston Press Music Awards and has recently released her debut album, Don’t Forget To Say Goodnight, recorded at the famous SugarHill Studios. While she just finished performances of Rosalba in Houston Grand Opera’s Florencia en el Amazonas, a commercial recording of the cast will be available soon. Alicia also maintains a full voice studio of private students in Houston. For voice lessons, please contact giannigirl@gmail.com.
